So far this year is shaping up with a bountiful crop of ideas for projects in 2007. Ideas we have been floating about include: A Book of Lyrics replete with original notes, historic photos, and the actual words to What Went Wrong. A DVD possibly even 2, a live show and (Hopefully!?!) a documentary! A new Sic n' Mad CD. Plus new Slackers tracks to download coming soon. We have lots of new songs and new ideas for projects include more live tracks, some acoustic tracks, re-arrangements of classic Slacker tunes, and a cover project that will range from Cash to Clash. I wouldn't expect it al
OK so there are no more tickets for the holiday show. Which despite the rain was awesome by the way. The stage was a scene of mayhem and melody as Sturgeon from Leftover Crack, Jack and Sandra from World/Inferno Friendship Society, along with Simon and the Bar Sinister Horns joined us for a raucus stage packing holiday ho ho ho-down. This year the annual Holiday Show was at a new venue, The Rebel, I really liked that we could see all the way to the back of the room from the stage, makes the gig more personal we you can see the maniacs dancing in the back. I'd also like to thank The folks on the West Coast for a great though brief tour out there.
I've had three calls this morning about tonights show, so here is the info I can gather. There are plenty of tickets available either at the door of the Rebel or at Rocksoff.com. Apparently this place is large enough to accomadate a Slacker Holiday Party , so every one please come down to the show. And stop Calling Me!
I once again post a report on our most recent outing. Once again I am pleased to say I had a great time Down South. First and foremost Big Up to Glen "Hey Buddy" Hackett who was wicked on the kit, from the first beat in a Philly Church basement to the last crash in an Asbury Park bowling alley, a great guy to have on the road, a good (NY) driver, and a riot to boot. And of course never ending respect to DJ Boss Harmony whose deep cuts and keen eye set the perfect vibe for a full Slackers experience. Now what you've all been waiting for the best food of the tour award goes to.... Terrells Barbeque in Gainseville Fla. This place was so good even though we were late and had to get food to go I took one bite of their Briskit and had to go back for more. I ended up getting 3 sandwiches. Everyone else got at least 2. We couldn't stop talking about it for days. Of course Fat Matt's in Atlanta has the killer pulled pork.
Other highlights for me were a killer show in Vienna, wandering the streets of Prague in search of "real absinthe", Ice cream in MIlano "Aaaaaaaagggghhhh", and 3 English gigs that were amazingly fun (with the Blue Kings, who you should check out). Plus we played a secret gig after the London show at the RED Star bar, very late, very small, very entertaining. At that show, and many others actually, we played a bunch of new songs. This tour was very good for writing and learning new songs for us and I hope you enjoyed being part of the premiering audiences. Don't worry America we'll be there playing these new tunes around our new tour.
